Black Pearl Drop Earrings with Diamonds

The pearl hangs below a pavé diamond hoop and moves when you turn your head, showing deep grey and green tones as it catches the light. Quietly serious jewellery, made to be worn for years and one day passed on.

How to love your pearls

Pearls aren't like diamonds. They're soft, they're organic, and they love being worn. Here's how I look after mine:

• Last on, first off. Perfume, hairspray and body oil first, then pearls. Take them off before the shower, the sea, the pool or the gym.
• A slow wipe at night. When they come off, run a soft cloth over them. The one you use for your glasses is perfect. It takes ten seconds and keeps the glow.
• Give them their own space. Keep them in a soft pouch or wrapped in silk, away from gold, diamonds and anything that could scratch them. Never in a plastic bag. Pearls like to breathe.
• Wear them often. Pearls left in a drawer go dull. Pearls that are worn stay warm and luminous. So don't save them for special occasions. Wear them on Tuesdays.
